Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP), U.S. Department of Defense
The Department of Defense (DoD) established the Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP) in 1990 to improve accessibility for people with disabilities throughout the DoD and remove the cost of accommodations. CAP provides assistive technology as a form of reasonable accommodation to enable a qualified person with a disability to perform the essential functions of the job. CAP's scope is to provide the assistive technology used to modify the computer and telecommunication environment for federal employees with disabilities.
