Swedish Handicap Institute

The Swedish Handicap Institute (Hjälpmedelsinstitutet) is a national resource centre on assistive technology and accessibility for persons with disabilities. The activities of the Swedish Handicap Institute cover testing and procurement of assistive devices; research and development; analyses of needs, knowledge and method development; training and capacity building; international cooperation; and information dissemination. The Institute is run by the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions.
