(Verified 04/2009) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The 2 light Choice Indicator, model 20, is a control switch assessment system designed for yes/no responses or choice testing and training. A snap-action switch is installed below each of the large lights, which are raised slightly above the boxes. Direct physical force against either light deflects the switch, causing the light to illuminate. Lights are red and amber. Each light has an auxillary switch jack, and the entire unit has a carrying handle for transport. POWER: 110 volt AC, with an AC adapter. DIMENSIONS: 8 x 5.5 x 1.5 inches. WEIGHT: 1 pound, 4 ounces.

A list of the stored abbreviations and their expansions can be recalled for review and editing. Abbreviation/Expansion functions as a text editor (very simple word processor) in its own right. Utilities provided with the program allow text created within it to be transferred to some other programs. Abbreviation/Expansion will not work within other programs, but functions on its own as a very simple word processor. An extended 80-column card for the Apple IIe is required to use the program.   3. APPLE DEMO DISK

Input methods demonstrated include direct selection using the keyboard, and scanning using one switch, two switches, and the keyboard. Output modes demonstrated include printed text, synthesized speech, sound, and graphics (large print, Bliss symbols, etc.). The same programs designed for demonstrating the use of these systems to non-users may also be used to assess which methods work best for a client. Various peripheral devices (switches, speech synthesizer, etc.) are required to run this demonstration program (extra). COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple II computers.

This hand-held infrared transmitter enables the user to operate any electrical device or function within the Gewa Infra-Link system (see separate entry) using either direct selection or scanning. It is a 10-level programmable transmitter that can send hundreds of signals to control environmental devices, including security-coded devices and X-10 remote control devices for lighting and appliances. The transmitter does not need to be aimed at the receivers and can be used from as far away as 100 feet. For those who cannot operate the transmitter by hand, it can be actuated by any single-function control such as a sip or puff switch, head actuated switch, or hand or foot switch.

The unit is an advanced remote control system with a dynamic display screen. Selections can be made by directly touching the display screen or by using switches for scanning through selections. The system is based on a pocket-PC and can learn IR codes from other remote control units such as those for a TV, video, or stereo system. The screen is dynamic, and the information displayed can be arranged according to the needs of the user. Features include the ability to learn infrared (IR) codes from most IR remote control units on the market, storage of up to 256 IR channels in its memory, the ability to create IR macros and the ability to create different pages with different numbers of functions. Users can copy, move, and exchange the location of functions. The unit provides auditory feedback and auditory scanning with recorded speech. One or two switches can be connected to the device and users can choose between several methods of scanning, as well a choose to have a delay before activation. Users can also select between several hundred included pictures, select between over 30 completed, pre-built pages, and make back-up copies. By selecting a set of symbols, the user can "write" in the top fixed window. The symbols are displayed on colored squares and have accompanying text. The user can scroll through the symbolic tables at all times. The program has a table of 500 Blissymbols. The ISBLISS program is available in several different languages. The standard configuration permits 32 messages to be stored (one minute of high-quality recording or two minutes of extended play); memory may be acquired to expand capability to up to 4.5 minutes of high quality or 9 minutes of extended play. The software also functions as an on-screen keyboard program for typing into any Windows-based program. It can be used to speak using Microsoft SAPI Speech, DECtalk, InfoVox, or Dolphin speech systems (not included), digitized (recorded) speech, or pre-recorded sound files, and it is compatible with all major makes of environmental controls. This software can be controlled with a touch-screen, mouse, head pointer, keyboard, joystick, or switches.

This hardware accessory connects to a telephone and phone line. For up to 60 names entered into its directory, it dials the number when the name of the person to be called is spoken. When the handset is picked up, the unit automatically asks for a name to call, but allows the user to dial manually by saying nothing at the prompt or pressing one of the phone keys to get a dial tone. This program works with a Gewa Prog environmental control unit (not included, see separate entry) connected to the serial port of the computer. The program allows the user to choose Mode (Level) and Function (Key number) on the environmental control unit, which works with X-10 systems, and then to select Transmit to send the control signal.

This software allows the user to store any number of phrases, organized by topic and context, and find and select them on an on-screen menu using the computer keyboard, an on-screen keyboard, or an alternative input device. Messages can be recorded or stored as text and spoken by a synthesizer. For free conversation, users can type on a Chat Box screen; the Chat Box can speak highlighted text or speak pre-stored text by line, sentence, or paragraph, and its contents can be loaded and saved for future use.

This is a program for creating text to type into other Windows programs. It displays grids of words for text entry, with pictures in the grids, allowing users to enter text by clicking on the pictures. Users can create new grids or or add new words, arranged by chosen topics. The program is compatibile with pre-stored vocabularies designed for symbol communication. The program also supports word prediction, using either the whole dictionary or a list of topical words. Users can add new topics, and the program learns new words as they are used (with an optional spell-check first). The on screen keyboard has a QWERTY layout, and a number of addition functions in the bottom-right. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP.
