AUTO-SELECT TUNING PERSONAL RECEIVER (MODEL PR-75)
The Auto-Select Tuning Personal Receiver, model PR-75, is an FM amplification system designed for use by individuals who are hard of hearing. When turned on by plugging its headphones into the audio output connector, this receiver automatically initiates the tuning sequence and makes decisions about the channel selection, tuning itself to the correct transmitter. If other transmissions need to be monitored, a manual, one-button tuning control causes the receiver to seek any other on-channel group frequency transmission in the 72-76 MegaHertz wide band channel group. A single LED (light-emitting diode) indicator system monitors all necessary receiver functions. The LED indicator blinks rapidly to indicate channel selection during the initial tuning process, glows continuously when a signal is being received, and flashes at a steady slow rate when that the receiver is no longer receiving a signal. Control features include a volume control with a 50 decibel (dB) range; automatic turn-on when headphone is plugged in and turn-off when headphone is removed; and one-button tuning reset. The receiver's antenna is integral with the headphone cable, so there is no external antenna. POWER: Uses two 1.5-volt double-A alkaline batteries or rechargeable NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) battery. Low batteries are indicated by a rapidly flashing LED and audible beeping. OPTIONS: Portable fast charger / storage case for 12 receivers, or single charger unit. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 1.625 x 2.5 x 3.25 inches. WARRANTY: One year.

This transmitter may be used for personal cueing, for tour guide applications, and language interpretation, as well as for assistive listening applications, and is compatible with the PR-216 Personal Receiver (see separate entry). It has 57 user-selectable channels in the 216-217 megahertz (MHz) range, including 38 standard narrow-band channels and 19 high-fidelity narrow-band channels with companded audio processing. The transmitter has a single-window LED (light-emitting diode) display for operation indicators, including a bargraph VU Meter that displays audio input (modulation), a two-digit alpha numeric display that shows the operating channel, a five-digit numeric display that shows operating frequency, an antenna indicator that displays deficient antenna condition, a lock-out Indicator that shows tuning has been disabled, and a test-tone generator for receiver testing and audio level referencing. A microcontroller automatically sets the modulation deviation, the audio mode for companding processing, and the EQ when corresponding channels are selected. The device can accommodate a top-mounted telescopic antenna or an external antenna. It comes with a female audio input connector for microphone and line level input; a male power input connector; and a BNC type RF output connector. An Operator's Manual may be downloaded from the manufacturer's web site. POWER: Uses alternating current (AC) or 12 volts direct current (DC). DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 1.75 x 5 5/8 x 6.5 inches. WEIGHT: 44 ounces. WARRANTY: One year.

BASE STATION TRANSMITTER ADAPTER (MODEL M-72)
The Base Station Transmitter Adapter is a transmitter for FM amplification systems designed to add flexibilty and variety to wireless sound transmission for individuals who are hearing disabled. This unit was designed to be used with the M-72 wireless microphone transmitter (see separate entry) which conveniently plugs into the back of the base station enabling the transmitter to operate in a permanent, AC powered installation, and if necessary, with an external antenna. The base station accepts its ausio input from any line level output (microphone level option) audio system and transmits this signal to any Comtek receiver. It is equipped with R.F. output indicator that monitors normal R.F. output level and a modulation for maximum signal to noise performance. It is self contained for portable applications, but it may be rack mounted for permanent installations. This unit allows the wirelees microphone to be used in a number of places including theaters, churches and auditoriums. It may also be used as part of a wireless intercom system for duplex communications, as a transmitter to monitor live soundtrack, or as a base transmitter providing a wireless audio point-to-point link. POWER: 115 V AC or optional 12V DC battery pack. OPTIONS: A rackmounting adapter kit is available for standard 19 inch rackmount. DIMENSIONS: (WxDxH) 8x7.5x2.5 inches.

CHATPACK DESKTOP SOUND FIELD SYSTEM (MODEL TA-1)
The ChatPack Desktop Sound Field System, model TA-1, is an FM amplification system designed for use by individuals who are hard of hearing. This desktop system can be used in a classroom to increase the voice level of the teacher over background noise, or it can be used with a variety of audio sources such as a television, VCR, or DVD player. The system includes a ChatPack desktop speaker, a receiver, a transmitter, and a headset. The receiver provides a link between the wireless microphone transmitter and the speaker unit. This FM system operates in the interference-free 216 megahertz (MHz) Low Power Radio Service band recently allocated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) type services. The transmitter can be as far away as 200 feet from the speaker without the speaker requiring any exposed antennas. The audio frequency response of the speaker is equalized through the FM system to enhance the psophometric response while maintaining a high acoustic gain before feedback. This equalization maximizes the wireless microphone transmitter's ability to operate in close proximity to the speaker without accruing feedback. The system includes one short connecting cord that provides power to both the receiver and audio to the speaker unit. The receiver can also be used as a personal FM receiver with a neck-loop, earphones, or with direct audio-input cords for hearing aids or a cochlear speech processor. The speaker unit and the receiver are housed in a protective carrying pouch. POWER: The speaker uses 6 standard double-A nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries, which also "Phantom"-powers the receiver. The system comes with a dual charger that charges both the speaker and the wireless microphone transmitter. WARRANTY: One year.

CONFERENCE TABLE MICROPHONE ADAPTER (MODEL TM-10)
The Conference Table Microphone Adapter, model TM-10, is a microphone adapter for an FM amplification system, designed for use by individuals who are hard of hearing. This device can be used with Comtek's Personal Assistive Listening System, model AT-216 (see separate entry). When the clip-on lapel microphone included with the AT-216 is inserted into this device, it is transformed into a table-top conference microphone that functions as an acoustically tailored "boundary-type" microphone. The reflective surface of a table or desk becomes the boundary area within which the microphone picks up sound. This allows the user to hear everyone sitting around the table without passing around a microphone. The device emphasizes the frequencies that enhance speech clarity. A second microphone and microphone adapter can be used for applications such as "daisy chaining" or combining two conference table microphones. DIMENSIONS (HxW): 0.64 x 2 inches.
