   Ability Switch Tester, model 65955, is control switch assessment system designed for use with individuals who use control switches to operate devices. This unit provides visual and auditory indications when a switch is activated. The switch is plugged into the tester, and switch closure is indicated by a light and a tone.     Buddy Buttons are touch switches designed designed to provide computer accessibility or to activate toys and appliances for children who have physical and/or visual disabilities. These single switches are activated by pressing anywhere on the top surface: the force to activate around the edges, 3.5 ounces, almost half the force required in the center, 7.5 ounces. 24. DUAL SWITCH LATCH AND TIMER

    The Dual Switch Latch and Timer is a device that controls the mode of operation of two momentary contact switches. The latching function changes the action of the switch from momentary to latching on/off. The timing function keeps the circuit closed for a preset amount of time for each activation of the switch, and it can set the duration for which the switch must be pressed in order to be activated.     The Imperium 200H Environmental Control System is an environmental control unit designed to provide both visual and voice feedback for individuals with disabilities. Engineered for dual capability at either home or a care facility, this unit is designed to control up to 256 lights and appliances, including televisions, video cassette recorders, compact disc players, electronic bed controls, nurse-call systems, and the optional tape recorder. The system consists of two components, a base unit and a remote unit. The small remote unit attaches to a wheelchair. Control signals for this system are provided by any dual switch. 39. KEYS-U-SEE LARGE PRINT KEYBOARD

    The Keys-U-See Large Print Keyboard is a large print keyboard designed for use by individuals with low vision. The keys have a large, bold typeface over 400 percent larger than standard keyboards. Three models are available with three different high-contrast color schemes. The keyboards all have a USB connection. COLOR: The yellow keyboard has yellow keys with black letters in a black frame; the ivory keyboard has ivory keys with black letters in an ivory frame; the black keyboard has black keys with white letters in a black frame.

40. KING KEYBOARD (MODEL 2440)

    King Keyboard is an expanded keyboard designed with large widely spaced keys for individuals with gross motor skills and a large range of motion. The keys are slightly recessed so that the board's surface acts as a keyguard and the keys provide tactile and auditory feedback on contact. Frequency of use layout places the most frequently used letters toward the center of the keyboard, which may help expedite text entry and minimize fatique. Operating the keys requires 200 gm of pressure.     Lingo is a direct selection communicator designed for use by individuals with communication disabilities. This device is designed to be small and light enough to be worn comfortably on the waist or around the neck and shoulder and is an eight-message aid. This water-resistant unit offers seven message locations, each with 25 seconds of recording time and one memo location with a full 60 seconds of recording time. Each message location can be recorded and erased independently and the memo button offers a list feature that allows for adding a message without recording over previous messages. The unit offers four total minutes of memory. Features include a recessed keyboard to prevent accidental activation, digital sound/speech, LED feedback, volume control and lockout, a headphone jack, and low memory indicator. 46. MICROLIGHT SWITCH

    The MicroLight Switch is a touch switch designed to be activated by a feather light touch for individuals who have upper extremity motor disabilities. This switch requires 0.4 ounces of pressure and 0.25 inch of travel for activation and provides tactile and auditory feedback. The switch features a threaded screw insert for mounting (screw must be purchased separately) or it may be mounted with double-sided tape or Velcro. DIMENSIONS: 1.75 x 0.5 x 0.75 inches.

47. MIGHTY MOUNT

    The Mighty Mount is switch mouting hardware designed to optimally position a single switch for a user with physical disabilities. This unit may be used with most popular switches and includes an anchoring clamp, a telescoping and angling arm, and a full range switch platform. Swiches attach using screws or Velcro and can be positioned for use with the hand, the chin, or the knee.

48. MINI CUP SWITCH

    The Mini Cup Switch is a buttonswitch designed for individuals with upper extremity disabilities who have a good ability to target smaller surfaces. It is a smaller version of the Cup switch (see separate entry) which is similar to the Cap Switch (see separate entry), but more durable since it is encased in a plastic cup. It comes with colored stickers for individuals with low vision. The base provides a surface for easy mounting on table, pillow or wheelchair bracket. 49. MINI JOYSTICK WITH PAD SWITCH (MODEL 50120)

    The Mini Joystick with Pad Switch, model 50120, is designed for use by individuals with upper extremity disabilities. This switch is a four-position gated joystick designed for individuals who can maneuver a joystick, but need a larger switch. The multiple switch is five switches in one; the joystick has four positions, and the fifth switch is activated by pressing the raised pad beside it. This switch can be used to control any device that requires five single switches, or it can be adapted to control up to five devices operated with a single switch. It requries an activating force of 7 ounces and offers tactile and auditory feedback. OPTIONS: An adapter that enables five single-switch devices to be operated by one multiple switch. 50. MINI JOYSTICK WITH PUSH SWITCH (MODEL 50200)

    The Mini Joystick with Push Switch, model 5020, is a multiple switch designed to control any device that requires five single switches for operation by individuals who have severe physical or upper extremity disabilities or spinal cord injury. It can also be adapted to form five single or mono switch plugs for controlling any five devices operated by single switches (additional hardware needed). Four switches are activated by moving the hoystick in four directions; the fifth is activated by pressing down on the joystick shaft. Two tips are included: one is flexible rubber and can be cut to desired size and the other is hard plastic. The joystick requires 4.5 ounces of activating force with 0.5 inches of travel. 51. MINI RELAX

    The Mini Relax is an environmental control unit designed to operate televisions, video cassette recorders, and other infrared operable devices. This scanning infrared transmitter controls the TV, VCR, or any other device that operates using infrared technology. The unit has the capacity to store up to six functions, such as changing channels and volume. Scanning provides auditory and visual feedback with adjustable scan speed and auto scan or hold scan. 53. MOUSE EMULATOR (MODEL 5005)

    Mouse Emulator is a device that allows a set of switches to be used in place of a mouse for input to a Macintosh computer. Five input switches are used to produce up, down, left and right cursor movement plus mouse button action. A latching feature is provided to reproduce mouse movement with the mouse button held down ("dragging"). This latching is activated by holding down the mouse button switch for a certain (adjustable) length of time. The speed of cursor movement with the Mouse Emulator goes in two stages. The initial speed when a switch is activated is fixed and slow. After a one second delay the speed increases to a higher value, the magnitude of which is adjustable. The Mouse Emulator will also serve in place of the standard keyboard. Special software presents an on-screen image of the keyboard. The user moves the mouse cursor to the desired key and clicks the mouse button in order to "type" that key. Mouse Emulator is designed to substitute transparently for the mouse and the keyboard, providing access to standard software on the Macintosh 512 and Plus computers. The five switches are small button switches fitted in a disk-shaped housing; consequently, a small range of motion, a light touch, and good targeting ability are required for operation. 56. PLATE SWITCH

58. PNEUMATIC SWITCH (MODELS 51000 & 51010)

    The Pneumatic Switch is a dual switch designed to be activated by breathing through a tube for individuals with severe physical disabilities. Sipping on the switch activates one switch; puffing activates the other. This switch has an internal saliva trap which can be easily cleaned and the mouthpiece is a disposable straw. There are two models available: the Pneumatic-short (model 5100); and the Pneumatic-long with an extended tube for swivel clamp mounting (model 5105).     Point It is a joystick mouse emulator designed for use by individuals with upper extremity or grasping disabilities. This USB joystick allows smooth proportional control of all mouse functions, including left click, double click, right click, drag and drop, and latching. The force required to activate the joystick is 9 ounces. The unit also has external switch jacks for users who require a larger target area for the left and right click. 60. POWERLINK 4 CONTROL UNIT

    The PowerLink 4 Control Unit is a control switch interface unit designed for use by individuals with upper extremity or neurological disabilities or cerebral palsy. Six modes of control allow the user to define exactly how, and for how long, appliances will be turned on. The unit accepts any single switch, including AbleNet’s Big or Jelly Beamer wireless switches (see separate entries). The unit is set up using a built-in display. Flexible outlets allow custom positioning and independent activation of of the appliances. The unit has two switch input jacks and Linkable wireless technology for use with multiple Big or Jelly Beamer switches. The unit is operated by five connected Buddy Switches (included; see also separate entry). Each switch can be assigned a different instrument. Controls include an on/off/volume switch and a song selector. Additional features include lndicators for ready state, record, instrument, and tempo. 63. RELAX 3 WITH TASH TELEPHONE (MODEL 83000) & RELAX 3 SYSTEM PACKAGE (MODEL 83100)

    The Relax 3 with Tash Telephone, model 83000, is an environmental control unit designed for use by individuals with neurological or severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury. The system programs with a standard remote and offers 30 infrared functions (television, VCR, DVD, CD, satellite, cassette player, stereo) and ten X-10 functions. Auto scanning and single-and dual-switch access are standard. The unit offers auditory and visual feedback. Model 83000 includes the Relax 3 and the Tash Telephone (see also separate entry), which provides scanning through ten preset telephone functions, answering, hanging up, directory, down, up, and five speed dials. Model 83100, the System Package, includes the Relax 3, the Tash Telephone, an X-10 transceiver, two X-10 modules, and one single switch.

64. ROCKER SWITCH (MODEL 51050)

    The Rocker Switch, model 51050, is designed for use by individuals with upper extremity disabilities. This switch is designed to operate devices requiring two switch closures for operation. Activation is accomplished by pressing on any part of the surface on each side; center targeting is not required. Activation requires 4.5 ouncs of pressure and 0.1 inch travel. Tactile and auditory feedback is provided and the rubber base prevents slipping. OPTIONS: Adapters are available separately to enable operation of one or two devices requiring single switches. 65. ROUND PAD SWITCH (MODEL 58050)

    The Round Pad Switch, model 5805, is a touch switch designed to require a large force to activate for individuals who are not able to control their strength. It can be activated by pressing anywhere on the top surface with any part of the body including head, cheek, finger, hand, or foot.     The SiCare Light II is an environmental control unit designed for use by individuals with mobility or severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury. The user can also enter commands though dual- or single-switch scanning. The unit has 15 pre-set command menus including television, bed, satellite, light, and device. Voice feedback is provided on menu commands.     The Single Switch Latch and Timer (SLAT) is a combination switch latch and switch timer unit designed to enable individuals with upper extremity disabilities to control one battery-operated toy, game, or appliance. This unit offers a choice of functions: In switch latch mode, one touch activates the device and the next turns it off. In timer mode, the timer can be set to activate the device for a set number of seconds or minutes. When the time on the timer expires, the device turns off.

71. SINGLE SWITCH TASH TELEPHONE, THE (MODEL 81000)

    The Single Switch Tash Telephone, model 8100, is a switch activated telephone designed for use by individuals with neurological, upper extremity, or severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury. Operated by a single switch (the choice of any one Tash single switch is included), the phone offers dial, answer, hang-up, and speed dial; forty name directory; visual feedback; adjustable scanning spped; and adjustable response time.

72. SLIM ARMSTRONG MOUNTING SYSTEM

    The Slim Armstrong Mounting System is a mounting system for communication devices or switches that can be attached to wheelchairs, bed frames, tables or trays for activities at home, school, work and in the community. The device has a slender, telescoping arm that holds up to 5 pounds. The system includes the following components: a clamp for anchoring on most curved or flat surfaces, a ball joint, a flexor rod with built-in ball joint, a telescoping arm, and a small triangular mounting plate. These parts can be mixed and matched to create four mounting systems to adapt to individual needs. The Slim Armstrong can be turned a full 360 degrees for repositioning. The system is available with or without knobs. The system without knobs includes an Allen wrench necessary for tightening the joints. The wrench conveniently stores in the clamp. These caps allow communication or labeling symbols to be placed and protected on touch switches. The clear, semi-rigid plastic covers enable unobstructed viewng of labels and symbols. Beacause the labels fit under the snap-on lids, no adhesives are required and labels and symbols may be changed as needed.
