1. CHIEF (MODEL 107SR)

   --- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 01/2009) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Chief 107SR is a powered standing and reclining wheelchair designed to increase user independence by allowing full access to the environment. FRAME (WxL): 24 x 46 inch non-folding reclining and standing frame with four-inch ground clearance is standard. The frame is also available in 44 inches long as a no cost option. Other standard features include traillink uneven ground compensation in front and independent suspension in the rear. This chair comes in a standard choice of red, black, blue, yellow or green. Optional colors are available at an extra charge. CONTROLS: A 60-amp remote joystick control with micro programmable sensitivity and a choice of right or left mounting is standard. A 70-amp control for greater power, a flip-away control bracket, a center-mount flip-away control, a standard flip-away chin control, a chin control with multimode, a head control, a sip-and-puff control, and pressure-activated controls in the headrest for the stand and recline features are optional. Also available are a T-handle joystick, a Y wrist control, an O ring on the joystick, a goal post, and an attendant control. RECLINE: 90-degree recline with low-shear recline compensation. STANDING FEATURES: 90-degree stand with auto centron gravity balance system. The chair can be driven in the standing position. RWD: Two-motor rear-wheel drive with quick-release free wheeling. SEAT: The seat width is available in a standard choice of 16 or 18 inches; widths of 17, 19, or 20 inches are optional. The standard seat depth is 17 inches and 16-or 18-inch depths are optional. The seat height is 18 inches and the back height from the seat base is 26 inches. A contoured Jay back with a breathable cover and a contoured Otto Bock head/neck rest is standard. A Roho mini back cushion, right or left adjustable lateral supports, a lumbar support, and a spinal fluid pad support are optional. The standard seat is the base only. A four-inch Velcro low shear upper torso strap and a seat belt are included. CUSHION: A contoured ortho foam seat cushion, Roho or Jay cushions (see also separate entries), or custom cushions are available as options. ARMRESTS: Adjustable height desk-length self-skinning armrests that remaun perpendicular in recline and lower during standing are standard. The arm height adjusts from 7 to 11 inches; custom heights are available. Full-length arms, skirt guards on flip-up arms, one-piece channel forearm pads, and palm extensor modules are optional. BRAKES: Automatic braking system. CASTERS: 8 x 1.75 inch front casters with gel-filled thorn-proof tires are included. Options include 5 x 2 inch casters with polyurethane tires and zero pressure inserts for the standard tires. WHEELS: 12 x 3 inch drive wheels with gel-filled thorn-proof tires are standard. Zero pressure inserts for standard and optional tires and 10 x 3 inch tires are available. FOOTRESTS: Independent power adjustable dual-action elevating legrests are standard. Lightweight flip-up footplates and a removable knee bolster are standard. Options include toe loops with Velcro ankle straps, shoe holders with ankle straps, Otto Bock boots, adjustable-angle footplates, special angle or length footplates, and custom requirements. OPTIONS: Tray, automotive horn, lighting package, on/off key switch, van lock, and a 12-volt cigar lighter. POWER: Uses two group 24 12-volt gel cell batteries; the batteries, a battery fuel gauge, and the battery charger are included. SPPEDS: Maximum speed is six miles per hour. A speed control dial is included. CAPACITY: 250 pounds. WARRANTY: Three-year warranty on components and a six-month warranty on the batteries.
