  1. COMPUTER TABLES (MODELS HCP-4800 & HCP-6000)

The HCP-4800 & HCP-6000 are computer tables and workstations designed specifically for wheelchair users. The main work area can be adjusted with a hand crank in order to accommodate a variety of wheelchair heights. This mechanism has an internal braking system. There are additional side brakes to insure stability of the table during operation. The workstations will accommodate a microcomputer, a monitor, a printer, external disk drives, printer paper, an expanded keyboard, and other necessary materials. Two models are available: The HCP-4800 ($1095) and the HCP-6000 ($1195). Both models have keyboard trays made to hold an oversize keyboard such as the Unicorn Pad (Unicorn Engineering; see separate entry), the TASH King Keyboard, or the P.T.P. Pad. HCP-4800: This model has a rollout, adjustable angle shelf which rests on the arms of the wheelchair. HCP-6000: This model has the same physical dimensions and adjustable crank mechanism as the HCP-4800, but provides the user with a U-shaped shelf with a cutout to offer support surfaces on either side of the body and gives the operator close access to the keyboard tray. This shelf adjusts from 45 degrees down to 30 degrees, and can be folded up and locked into a horizontal position. DIMENSIONS (DxWxH): Overall workstation dimensions are 24 x 48 x 42 inches; desk height adjusts from 26 to 33.5 inches. WEIGHT: 225 pounds.

  2. MF-1000 MULTI-FUNCTIONAL WORKSTATION

MF-1000 Multi-functional Workstation is a computer work station adapted for computer users with disabilities. The station incorporates inter-changeable parts of both the HCP-4800 basic table and the HCP-6000 U-shaped table, and includes an upper, two-part removable shelf. The table can be designed and built to enable the individual to have the maximum space in accessing their own computer. The U-shaped desk surface is locked into the horizontal position by two retractable oak slides, and supported by two adjustable metal legs. In addition, the legs can be removed and the slides pushed in so that the desk surface will fold against the cabinet in a vertical position, leaving the entire table at only 25.5 inches in depth, and narrow enough to negotiate through doors and hallways. The metal legs can also be adjusted either higher or lower than the main desk surface when the slides are retracted to place the U-shaped desk surface on an incline either towards or away from the operator. The U-shaped opening can be made to any set width or made to adjust from 20 inches down to 10 inches in width with a constant depth of 10 inches. These adjustable surfaces rest on top of the desk surface and are removable. Two free-moving padded supports can be supplied as well to provide other adjustment options. A removable and adjustable strap is also available to furnish additional back support, if needed. A pull-out, tilt-down shelf can be mounted in place of the U-shaped opening to provide a desk surface above for placement of the monitor. Special modifications and designs are available upon request. All models have key board trays which are made to hold an oversize key boards such as Unicorn Pad, TASH king key board or PTP Pad. DIMENSIONS: Standard U-shape opening is 16 inches. Adjustable shelf measures 20 x 14 inches with an angle adjustment of 30 to 45 degrees. The height adjustment of the main desk surface is 26 to 33.5 inches, with the U-shaped adjustment surface adding 3/4 inches to that height. The pullout shelf is 3.5 inches lower in the horizontal position and drops down with the angle of incline. The angle adjustable shelf can be made to any size.
