  1. VISAGRAPH SILENT READING ASSESSMENT Picture of VISAGRAPH SILENT READING ASSESSMENT

Visagraph Silent Reading Assessment is a computerized eye-movement recording system designed to assess the efficiency of students' fundamental reading process. The Visagraph provides an objective record of an individual's acquired silent reading performance. Efficiency of performance is reflected in visual/functional proficiency, perceptual development, and information processing competence. OPERATION: An individual positions his/her head in a viewer, aligns the head and eyes, then follows a moving X that calibrates his/her visual performance. Then the user presses the space bar and reads an appropriate reading selection, frame by frame. During the reading, the Visagraph and the computer sample eye-movement positions, computes various performance measures, and, following the test, provides a digital computation of the characteristics of the reader's performance, as well as a graphic display of that performance. A simulation of the reader's visual performance can also be displayed on the monitor. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Apple computers.
