    CINTEX4 is an environmental control unit designed for use by individuals with severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury. This system enables the user to dial and answer the phone, control infrared devices such as televisions, VCRs, DVD’s, stereos, CD players, etc., and control appliances such as lights, fans, etc. using voice commands or switch input (an input program such as Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional or a switch input program for keyboard emulation required, but not included). Users may choose telephone only, appliances only, or both. Telephone features include dialing calls, answering calls, call disconnecting, dialing from a directory, and flash for call waiting redial and voice mail. All functions are hands free. The program automatically synchronize the operation of its phone amplifier with dialing and answering phone calls.     The Braille BookMaker is a portable desk-top Braille printer that produces Braille characters on both sides of the page for individuals who are blind. Commands are issued from a calculator-style keypad, and confirmed by tones so that the operator can change settings without having to print out prompts and responses in Braille.     Flipper is a video magnifier designed for use by individuals with low vision. Flipper consists of a lightweight camera that sits on a rolling base, rotates 225 degrees and connects to any television. The user points the camera in the desired direction and views the magnified image on the connected television screen. Control knobs allow the user to change the magnification level and contrast. This magnifier can also be connected to a computer monitor, although additional hardware may be required. Flipper can be used for near, intermediate, and distance viewing. The magnification range is 6 to 30 times original size for near objects and 1 to 12 times original size for distant objects. Flipper magnifies in full color with auto-focus magnification and multiple contrast options, and can magnify images on any surface.     TranSend LT is a dual braille / print printing system designed for individuals who are blind or have low vision. The system can produce braille together with ink text on alternating lines on the same page. Ink text can be either large or small print. The system consists of a control unit, a dot matrix printer, and a braille printer. TranSend uses text files that can be created by most popular word processing programs. The system has a built-in speech synthesizer which speaks all prompts as they appear on the control unit's screen. POWER: Uses either direct current (DC) or alternating current (AC). This continuous speech dictation software allows users to dictate, edit, and correct text in SpeakPad, the resident speech-enabled word processor, or in Word, Excel, or other applications within the Microsoft Office product suites, including Office XP, or directly into a variety of other PC applications. Users can create macros that will run across multiple applications, and can control the speed at which their macros run. This software supports the use of select digital handheld recorders. Other features include IBM ViaVoice Documents, which provides Microsoft Word-based customized templates for letters, reports, faxes, and e-mails, and VoiceMarks, which can read the name of a customized navigation macro to the user as an audio confirmation that the macro is being run correctly. The software comes with a noise-cancelling USB headset microphone. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers.     ViaVoice Standard is a voice input program designed for use by individuals with upper extremity and vision disabilities. This voice recognition software enables users to dictate, edit, correct, and format text in the IBM ViaVoice speech-enabled word processor, SpeakPad. Commands such as File, Open, Save can be spoken, and text dictated into SpeakPad can be exported to other text-based Windows applications through use of a single voice command, or through the Windows Copy and Paste features. Users can also dictate directly into Microsoft Word 2002, Word 2000, and Word 97 to create letters, reports, and other documents. This product comes with a 300,000 word vocabulary that can be customized to add new words, addresses, acronyms, and other personal phrases and expressions. Users can initiate basic commands to navigate Internet Explorer. The software comes with a noise-cancelling headset microphone. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. The player comes with a CD player accessory that connects to the player via the included USB cable and can transfer DAISY books directly from a CD to the player's removable 2-gigabyte (GB) SD card (included). Ear buds and a documentation CD are also included. POWER: The player uses a rechargeable battery; battery and recharger are included. The CD accessory has a power adaptor allowing it to use standard 100-240 volt alternating current; 50-60 hertz. DIMENSIONS (HxWxD): 4.6 x 2.6 x 0.9 inches (player). WEIGHT: 6 ounces. The notetaker has a Windows CE operating system and a program suite that includes a word processor that can read and write files in Microsoft Word format; a planner with a calendar, scheduler, and diary with audible alarms; an address list manager; an e-mail program with POP3 access; a scientific calculator; a file manager; translation programs for translating between text, braille, ASCII, Microsoft Word, and WordPerfect formats; an ActiveSync function with the ability to transfer files between the notetaker and a personal computer; and a remote synthesizer to allow the device to act as a speech synthesizer for other computers. This braille notetake has a visual display function that allows a blind student doing schoolwork in braille to show it to a sighted teacher by connecting the notetaker to a personal computer running a terminal program like Windows Hyperterminal.
