  1. AUDEX INFRARED HOME TRANSMITTER (MODEL H-TRANS)

    The Audex Infrared Home Transmitter, model H-TRANS, is a transmitter for infrared amplification devices for persons who are hard of hearing. This compact unit provides for improved listening of any auditory signal. It is equipped for auxiliary and microphone input, and compatible with any auditory source found in the home, including stereos, televisions, intercoms, dictation equipment, and live voice communication. Both the auxiliary and microphone inputs may be transmitted simultaneously, providing ocmmunication with two sources at once. The Audex Automatic Gain Control feature gives constant transmission strength regardless of the level of the input to the unit. This unit is available for purchase separately, or with other components of the Audex Infrared Home System (see separate entries). DIODES: 20 degree 940 nM infrared transmitting type. Maximum power dissipation is 100mw per diode. There are 12 diodes total; 6 each on two pivoting pods to cover a large listening area. FREQUENCY: Response is 100 to 18,000 hertz. CARRIER FREQUENCY: 95 KHz. DISTORTION: Typically less than 2 percent. POWER: 110 volt, 60 hertz using a 16 volt, 700mA. 16 volt 10VA.

    The SounDirector Personal Amplifier System 3 is a portable, personal amplification systems for use by individuals with mild to profound hearing disabilities designed for use in conjunction with or in place of personal hearing aids in the car, the radio or television, one on one conversations, meetings and conferences, or in other small groups. The unit combines a numbered volume control, tone control, and switchable magnetic loop pick-up coil to provide discrimination in many adverse listening environments. This system includes the SounDirector Amplifier, headphones, internal T-coil for loop reception, and instruction manual. FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 100 to 18,000 hertz with a normal transducer; 100 to 6500 with a power transducer. DISTORTION: Typically less than 3 percent. OPTIONS: A variety of transducers (headphones, stereo earbuds, etc), adapters, inductors, and neckloops are available for use with this system. Contact manufacturer for details. POWER: Uses 9-volt alkaline or NiCad rechargeable battery (not included). DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 2 3/8 x 7/8 x 4 1/8 inches. WEIGHT: 3.2 ounces. WARRANTY: Limited 3 year warranty.
