    --- DISCONTINUED. RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Remote VCR program with speech synthesis that talks the user through the programming process and can be operated by telephone. In Home Mode, it responds to input with explicit instructions, talking the user through each programming step. When programming is complete, it repeats what has been selected. Away Mode enables you to program your VCR from any touchtone phone (without interfering with answering machine). It also talks through each step, and a user-programmable security access number prevents unauthorized access. Learn Mode lets Hal learn the individual characteristics of whatever VCR is being used (BETA or VHS). It has a 12-digit keypad, a "Help" button and infra-red transmission to your VCR. The box measures 8 inches wide by 1 3/4 inches high by 6 1/2 inches deep and plugs into an AC outlet and telephone jack. Only works with infrared VCRs that have remote control and preferably the remote control pad should have a number pad.
