  1. 4TALK4 Picture of 4TALK4

    4talk4 is a direct selection communicator designed for use by individuals with communication disabilities. This device is specifically designed for use in the classroom where its clear speech and adjustable volume allow students to participate in classroom activities. It can be placed on a desk or a wheelchair tray, and can be fixed in place using M4 captive nuts placed in the base. This communicator has four large tactile switches, each with four levels of speech, giving a potential total of sixteen messages. The four buttons have plastic pockets allowing users to insert their own pictures to represent the messages. The total speech time is four minutes. This unit is programmed using voice input through a built-in microphone. The volume control can be adjusted from a whisper to a classroom-filling level. The unit includes a headphone jack for external headphones and up to four external switches can be connected to replace or augment the four built-in switches. Sockets also allow users to connect up to four battery-operated toys or devices. POWER: Uses four C batteries (included). OPTIONS: Voice control prompts are available in a number of languages besides English. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 9.4 x 12.7 x 33.3 centimeters. WEIGHT: 1 kilogram.

    The Adjustable Pressure Switch is a touch switch designed for use by individuals with fine motor and upper extremity disabilities. The amount of pressure needed to activiate the switch can be changed in small steps from light to heavy by twisting the cap. This makes the switch usable by those who can only exert light pressure as well as by those who prefer a firm pressure requirement in order to minimize unwanted presses, perhaps resulting from tremor. This adjustable switch has a solid hexagonal base that tessellates and fits the standard Big Switch mounting plate. The back of the switch also has tappings to fit the Tash mounting system. The switch terminates in a standard 3.5-millimeter jack plug. SIZES: Large and medium. DIMENSIONS: Large, 5 inches in diameter; medium, 2.5 inches in diameter. COLOR: Red, yellow, green, or blue.

  3. HEADWAY

    Headway is a cursor control interface designed for use by individuals with upper extremity and severe physical disabilities. This wireless infrared pointing device provides computer access via a small head worn transmitter. Left, right, up, and down head movements emulate on screen mouse movements. Used with an on screen keyboard (not included), this device enables total head control of the computer. The device's sensitivity is adjustable and with the press of a single mode button, the device operates in headpointer mode or in trackball mode using the integrated track ball. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible computers with PS/2 connection.

  4. JOYSTICK LIGHT WITH FINGERPLATE

    The Joystick Light with fingerplate is a joystick designed to provide computer cursor control for individuals with upper extremity disabilities. This device features separate buttons for mouse clicks and drag, and the cursor remains in position when the joystick is released. A light flashes when the drag button is active. This device also has a removablefingerplate that isolates each button and the joystick for better control. COMPATIBILITY: Models are available for use on Macintosh computers and IBM and compatible computers with PS/2 or USB ports. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The IBM and compatible models require Windows. DIMENSIONS: The joystick is three inches high.

    The Joystick Plus is a joystick designed to provide computer cursor control for individuals with upper extremity disabilities. This device features separate buttons for click, double click, horizontal/vertical only, drag, and speed. Five cursor speed settings are accessed simply by touching the speed button. The cursor remains in position when the joystick is released and a red light indicates when the drag button is active. This device also has a fingerplate that isolates each button and the joystick for better control. COMPATIBILITY: Models are available for use on Macintosh computers and IBM and compatible computers with PS/2 or serial ports.

  6. PENNY & GILES ROLLERBALL LIGHT

    The Penny & Giles Rollerball Light is a track ball designed to provide computer access for individuals with fine motor disabilities. This device features a large, easy-to-roll ball, removable fingerplates to aid in locating buttons, and separate buttons for mouse clicks and drag. A red light indicates that the drag function is in use. When pressure is released, the cursor does not drift off screen. COMPATIBILITY: Versions are available for use on Macintosh and IBM and compatible computers. DIMENSIONS: The ball is 2.5 inches in diameter.

    The Penny & Giles Wireless Switch is a cordless remote control switch designed for use by individuals with sever physical disabilities, spinal cord injury, or upper extremity disabilities. This angled, adjustable pressure switch communicates with a receiver without wires or cables. It has 16 available channels to allow it to be used with multiple devices in one room. The receiver can be connected to a battery-operated toy or device, or to a computer switch interface. The switch also comes with a standard switch cable, so it can be used as a normal switch. COLOR: Switches are available in red, green, blue, or yellow. OPTIONS: Available with or without remote receiver.

    The Roller II Joystick is a joystick designed for use by individuals with fine motor and upper extremity disabilities. It has three buttons and three switch ports with matched color coding. It has a USB connector with a PS2 adapter. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible and Apple Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: USB or PS2 port.

    The Roller II Trackball is a track ball designed for use byindividuals with upper extremity and fine motor disabilities. It has colored buttons to make it easier for the user to identify and select the correct button to press. It has three switch ports for attaching switches to replace the buttons. The switch sockets are color coded. A keyguard prevents inadvertent button presses. The keyguard is easily removed if not needed. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible computers and Apple Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: USB or PS2 port.

  10. SWITCH ADAPTOR BOX

    The Switch Adaptor Box is a switch adapter for computer designed for use by individuals with upper extremity and fine motor disabilities. When connected to the Penny and Giles Roller Trackball Plus or Joystick Plus (see separate entries), it allows their buttons to be replaced with switches. Connection is made via the switch port on the track ball or joystick. Five jacks on the switch adapter then allow external switches to be used in place of the right/left mouse buttons, drag, double click, and middle X/Y lock.
