  1. ACCESS-I

    ACCESS-I is a computer with wheelchair interface designed to provide computer accessiblity for individuals who use a powered wheelchair. ACCESS-I is a powerful and versatile personal computer that can travel anywhere because it is battery operated. It is ideal because it can be tailored to each peron's disability and it can be built upon so that it can be used from childhood, through school, at the university and in the workplace. Standard features include: 66MHz 486 CPU with 256 KB cache; 8 MB RAM; 210 MB Hard Drive; one 3.5 inch floppy drive; one serial and one parallel port; small form keyboardl LCD display; VGA port; MS-dos 6.xx. It can accomodate up to 32 MB of RAM and a 1.6 GB hard drive and also has room for five full length 16-bit ISA adapter cards. With ACCESS-I, the user can perform any DOS or Windows based application, such as word processing, database, graphics, or spreadsheet. The computer can accomodate any IBM-PC compatible input/output device such as DragonDictate, VoiceType, wireless LAN, cellular fax/modem, Headmaster, Touch Window, DecTalk and more (see separate entries). Installing Rflink will permit the operation of a "host" computer from a wheelchair mounted ACCESS-I. The addition of any combination of the hardware/software mentioned makes the ACCESS-I adaptable to any number of needs whether it be for someone with a physical, sensory or cognitive disabilty. POWER: ACCESS-I runs on the battery of a powered wheelchair and draws only one amp, so it will not drain the battery. DIMENSIONS: Measures 4 x 12 x 14 inches. WARRANTY: One full year warranty on parts and labor.

  2. SOUND BLASTER

    Sound Blaster is a speech synthesizer designed for use by individuals with visual, aural, speech, cognitive, or physical disabilities. The stereo recording and playback features enable CD-quality sound for a variety of applications, such as educational software. Speakers are not included with the sound card. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: 386 or higher processor; 16 bit slot; minimum 2 MB RAM; MS-DOS 5.0 or higher; EGA or VGA (recommended); speakers or headphones; Windows 3.1 or higher.
