EXTENDED WIDTH ARMREST (MODEL 77382)
The Extended Width Armrest, model 77382, is an add-on armrest designed for with lower extremity, mobility or severe physical disabilities, spinal cord injury and others who use wheelchairs, especially those who spend extended periods of time in wheelchairs. Intended to provide a wider resting surface without increasing armrest height, this armrest accommodates individuals with upper extremity edema, flaccidity, or increased tone by decreasing the risk of slippage and damage to the arm and shoulder joint. Additionally, the unit allows the arm to bear weight in a normal position without putting the arm into a static position. This unit mounts easily over existing armrests. For petite or small-framed individuals, the armrest can be configured so the extended width is inside of the armrest to provide weight-bearing upper extremity support without the user having to lean to the side.
