Features include Caller ID, a speakerphone function, large buttons, memory dialer, a 95 decibel (dB) ringer, a flashing ring strobe, and an optional bed shaker ring signaler. Caller ID is displayed on a large LCD screen and up to 99 incoming names and numbers are stored with a date and time stamp for each call. There are 12 memory dial buttons (three emergency and nine standard) that can be programmed for one-touch dialing. Incoming sound can be amplified 30dB with the standard volume control, 40dB with the amplification button, or 50 dB using the handset boost button. This hearing aid compatible phone also includes a tone control. An amplification switch allows the user to maintain settings and a three-level speech output control allows the user to adjust the volume of the out-going voice. E.A.R.S. (EARLY ALERT RESPONSE SYSTEM)

(Early Alert Response System) is a vehicle emergency alert device designed to visually notify drivers with hearing disabilities of the presence of an emergency vehicle with its siren activated within 500 feet of the driver's vehicle. The system uses a digital signal processing to detect and convey any siren sound in use in the United States. A digital microphone detects the siren and the detection is conveyed to a processor fitted with four red warning lights. The processor notifies the driver of the siren with both an audible tone and the flashing red lights. The system includes a triangular microphone fitted with suction cups and the rectangular processor; Velcro tabs are included to anchor the processor to the dashboard. Once installed, the sytem uses an audible tone and a brief flash of the red lights to signal readiness for operation when the vehicle's engine is started. POWER: Uses the car's cigarette lighter or it may be wired to the fuse box or "hot wires" such as the ignition. INSTALLATION: E.A.R.S. can be plugged into the cigarette lighter or wired directly to the car's fuse box or "hot wires" such as the ignition. The processor should be placed on the dashboard or any location easily visible to the driver and anchored with the Velcro tabs. This phone is a bone conductive phone, enabling the user to hear using the speech center of the brain rather than the ear. The handset is held against the bone of the head (not the ear) and the DirectVibe Pulsator in the handset creates soundwaves that travel directly to the brain's speech center, bypassing the normal auditory process. For those without hearing loss, the auditory system overrides the vibrations and the phone functions in a conventional manner. The illustrated format and the presentation of basic skills, this book is appropriate for children and sign language beginners. The American Manual Alphabet, number signs, and a list of different American Sign Language handshapes are included reference. The book is organized by categories such as nouns, verbs, and adjectives, and is indexed to help parents and teachers look for signs. A thumbwheel controls the volume of a caller's voice in stepless adjustments up to 10 times the standard telephone level (20 decibels maximum). This amplification only enhances the caller's voice; background noise is suppressed. The ringer loudness adjusts from off to low to high, and a tone control sets the ringer in a audible range selected by the user. A red indicator light also flashes with each ring to visually signal an incoming call. This hearing-aid compatible phone also features an audio jack, a recall key for 10-number memory, a last-number redial key, and a store-pulse-tone switch for pre-setting one-number calling and adapting the phone to local central office equipment. The keypad features large numbers, and braille coding makes key 5 a reference point. Tel-Ease with Backtalk offers the same features plus a digital speech synthesizer that speaks back the numbers as they are dialed.
