CAREASSIST ES BED
The CareAssist ES Bed is a motorized bed designed for use by individuals with severe physical disabilities. This adjustable electric hospital bed includes siderails, dual-locking brake casters with audible alarm, and integrated bed extenders for adding length to the bed. The bed moves in and out of a chair position for dining with a one-button control. Large button caregiver controls are located in one central location at the point-of-care, along with an angle of bed indicator and customizable alerts for low height, siderails down, brakes not set, and bed exit not armed. Other features include a nightlight, a built-in scale, and a user pendant. OPTIONS: Tempur-Pedic mattress. POWER: Uses standard current with battery backup for when the bed is being repositioned. Battery back-up automatically charges when the bed is plugged in.
CLINITRON AT HOME AIR FLUIDIZED THERAPY BED
The Clinitron At Home Air Fluidized Therapy Bed is a flotation bed designed for use by individuals with pressure sores/ulcers, spinal cord injury, or severe physical disabilities. The bed surface is filled with ceramic beads similar to sand; the gentle airflow through the beads "floats" the user, resulting in the lowest possible interface pressure and virtually eliminating shear and friction. The airflow also provides warmth and aids in providing comfort and pain reduction. Bead temperature is adjustable. Other bed features include a pressure-reducing air wall to support the body, a pressure-reducing air head section that can be raised and lowered, foot control pedal, and removable side rails on both sides. Control functions are located on a panel at the foot of the bed and in a remote unit on a side rail for bed user accessibility. Control functions include raising and lowering the head section, adjusting bead temperature, adjusting the firmness of the head section, turning fluidization on and off, and locking out the remote control on/off capability. The control panel and the remote control both have large buttons and easy-to-read instructions. A microprocessor constantly monitors the unit's main components. In the event of a mechanical or electrical failure, ana alarm sounds and a "call for service" message appears on the control display screen. The cushions remain inflated for up to two hours in the event of a power failure. The bed can stand directly on the floor to facilitate wheelchair transfers, or risers can be added to accommodate caregivers. POWER: Uses standard current. DIMENSIONS: At its lowest position, the bed is 26 inches high. The risers are 4 inches high.
HILL-ROM NP50 PREVENTION SURFACE
The Hill-Rom NP50 Prevention Surface is a foam mattress surface and decubitis pad designed for use individuals in acute care or with severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury. This lightweight, durable surface is constructed of high-density medical-grade foam with fluid proof nylon ticking and a vinyl base. The surface redistributes pressure to help prevent decubitis ulcers. It articulates with a frame and is reversible from head to foot. OPTIONS: Bolster/raised firm perimeter. CAPACITY: 350 pounds.
INTEGRIS MONITOR ARM
The Integris Monitor Arm is designed to support patient monitors, televisions, or computer monitors for viewing from bed or wheelchair. This arm, which mounts to the wall, supports up to 80 pounds and provides horizontal, vertical, and rotational positioning.
Liftem is a bariatric transfer lift designed for use by obese individuals with severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury. This powered overhead sling lift raises the user with a four-point lifting bar. The user's starting level can range from floor level up to 52 inches above the floor. The lift has an aluminum steel frame with an underbed clearance of 4.5 inches and an arm that rotates up to 60 degrees. It moves on front and rear casters with brakes in the rear. OPTIONS: Combination sling; stretcher sling; digital scale; and external wall-mounted battery charger. DIMENSIONS: (HxLxW): Base is 64 x 74 x 80 inches open, 64 x 54 x 24 inches closed. The front casters are 3 inches in diameter and the rear casters are 5 inches in diameters. POWER: Uses 24 volts direct current (DC) rechargeable battery. CAPACITY: 700 pounds. WEIGHT: 190 pounds.
TOTALCARE P500 SURFACE
The TotalCare P500 Surface is a hospital mattress and decubitis pad designed for use by individuals at risk for developing pressure sores. This antimicrobial wound care surface reduces pressure, shear, friction, and moisture, the four main causes of pressure ulcers. Weight-based pressure settings automatically and continuously distribute the patient's weight. The surface uses Microclimate technology to remove excess heat and moisture for cooler, dryer skin. A FlexAfoot mechanism helps prevent heel drop and prevents users from migrating towards the foot section. In sleep mode, the frequency of automatic pressure adjustments is reduced for up to eight hours, while keeping the surface within therapeutic range. An x-ray sleeve allows for x-ray cassette placement. Seat deflate lowers the seat section of the surface. The surface can be integrated with the TotalCare Connect bed (see entry). CAPACITY: 500 pounds, with 70 pound minimum.
TOTALCARE SPO2RT BED
The TotalCare Spo2rt Bed is a motorized bed designed for use by individuals recovering from burns or wounds or individuals with severe physical disabilities. This critical care bed includes Therapy-On-Demand modules that offer continuous lateral rotation therapy (CLRT) and percussion and vibration therapies. This helps mobilize secretions and other bodily fluids to aid in the prevention and treatment of pulmonary complications related to immobility. A head of bed alarm sounds automatically when the bed angle falls below 30 degrees, the angle called for in ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) prevention protocols. A pressure redistribution surface removes excess heat and moisture from the surface for cooler, dryer skin. Weight-based pressure settings automatically and continuously distribute the weight of the individual on the surface. A FlexAfoot mechanism helps prevent heel drop and prevents the individual from migrating towards the foot section of the bed. Turn Assist helps the caregiver to turn the individual, making it easier to perform linen changes and skin assessments. CAPACIT: 70 to 500 pounds.
VERSACARE TC BED
The VersaCare TC (Transitional Care) Bed is a motorized bed designed for use by post-surgical patients and individuals with severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury. This hospital bed has clinical mattress integration, a digital head of bed display, a FlexAfoot mechanism to help prevent foot drop, a powered Boost system to help the user move up in bed, and Turn Assist to help caregivers turn the user over to prevent bed sores. It has power transport with a built-in transport shelf, line manager, and push handles with IV pole guides. For safety, it features a low height and three exit modes to reduce fall risk, and a 30-degree head of bed alarm.
