DECTALK EXPRESS
DECtalk Express is a speech synthesizer designed to provide computer speech output for people who are blind or who have low vision. This portable, external synthesizer provides human-like tones and several voice styles. This synthesizer plugs into the serial port of a computer and works in conjunction with screen access software to provide speech output of keyed input and other information displayed on the screen. The Express includes a carrying case, a detachable accessory pouch, headphones, a 9-pin RS 232 connector, and a two-foot long cable. COMPATIBILITY: The unit's serial port enables it to be used with IBM and compatible PCs, laptops and notebooks, palmtops, workstations, and Macintosh computers. POWER: Uses an internal, non-removable rechargeable NiCad battery (included). A battery charger is also included. WEIGHT: Less than one pound. WARRANTY: One year.

DECTALK PC
DECtalk PC is a speech synthesizer card designed to translate ASCII text files into synthesized speech output for individuals who are blind or have low vision. The synthesized speech capability of the card includes nine predefined voices with user-adjustable inflection. The rate of speech ranges from 75 to 650 words per minute. A user-modifiable dictionary enables the addition of custom vocabulary. The card plugs into the ISA slot of a personal computer and works in conjunction with screen access software (not inclided). DECtalk PC includes the card, an external speaker with volume control, headphones, and a user's manual in printed, diskette, or audio cassette form. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible PC computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: DOS version 3.3, 4.0 or 5.0. and an ISA slot.

I-SPEAK
I-Speak is a screen reading program designed for use by individuals with vision or learning disabilities. This screen reader reads text from text files. E-mail and websites can also be saved as text files for reading. Files are read in a natural male or female human-sounding voice using inflection, intonation, and pauses to facilitate listeninng comprehension. Although the program reads only text files, text files can be recorded as Wave (.wav) or MP3 (.mp3) files. The program operates in two modes: In playlist mode, iSpeak reads text files that are organized into playlists or lists of files. In keyboard mode, iSpeak voices individual keys, entire sentences, or combinations of the three. The program also permits the user to select between multiple "skins" to change the the appearance of the iSpeak interface; each skin provides the same functionality, but displays the elements differently. Skins are available for downloading from the manufacturer website. The program can also voice text files for individuals with communication disabilities. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Pentium computer with a 100 MegaHertz (MHz) or faster computer; Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, or ME; minimum of 35 megabytes (MB) hard drive space; 288 MB RAM for typical installation, and a Sound Blaster 16 or compatible sound card.

ISPEAK FOR POCKET PC
iSpeak for Pocket PC is a voice output program designed for use by individuals with low vision. This text-to-speech (TTS) software product allows users of Pocket PC handheld devices to listen to e-mail messages, text documents, web pages, MP3 (.mp3) files, and Wave (.wav) files. This program will play text files of any length, including web page information, presentations, papers, reports, and e-books. Users can create or merge playlists consisting of text, MP3, or Wave files. The program includes 11 Fonix TTS voices. Users can assign voices to individual text files in a playlist. Users can also select their own background image and color, and change the position and appearance of any of the control buttons. All features can be used from the Pocket PC's Today screen. The software installs to either the device Main Memory or any Storage Card. COMPATIBILITY: For use with a Pocket PC 2000 or 2002 device. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Intel StrongARM (SA-1110) processor; minimum two megabytes (MB) available device memory, nine MB for all voices. For installation and download of web pages and e-mail, a desktop personal computer running Windows 98/NT/ME/2000/XP with eight megabytes MB available disk space, a CD-ROM drive, a docking cradle or other connection, and ActiveSync 3.1 or greater are required.

TIMETALK FOR POCKET PC
TimeTalk for Pocket PC is a voice output clock program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This software program enables a hand-held Pocket PC to read out the time in a pleasant, human-quality voice with Fonix text-to-speech (TTS) software. The voice is female and speaks U.S. English. Time announcements can be activated with the push of a button or programmed to announce the time at hour, half hour, or quarter hour intervals. The program also has a large clock display capability. COMPATIBILITY: For use on Pocket PC. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: StrongARM processor; WinCE, version 3.0 operating system; 2.05 megabytes (MB) of available disk space; one MB storage memory; and 300 kilobytes executable memory.
