QPOINTER HANDSFREE
--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 9/2011) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- QPointer HandsFree is a mouse emulator program designed for use by individuals with upper extremity or fine motor disabilities or spinal cord injury. This program enables complete application-independent computer operation by voice. The voice is not used to communicate with applications, but to bring the cursor directly to the needed point on the screen, and then to perform mouse commands. The technology identifies each object on the screen and enables the user to directly point at each object by voice. QPointer may be used to point at words in documents, on icons, on buttons, and elsewhere on the screen; graphics, including icons, links, toolbar elements, etc.; and controls such as scrollbar elements, minimize button, maximize button, etc. Switching between applications may also be accomplished by voice. This program also enables the user to create, format, edit, and save documents; write, edit, and manage E-mail; and surf the Internet, all by voice. A database of the user's most commonly used words can be created and profiles for multiple users can be stored. This software permits dictation into any Windows-based application. A headset microphone is included in the package. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. QPOINTER KEYBOARD
--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 9/2011) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- QPointer Keyboard is a mouse emulator program designed for use by individuals with upper extremity or fine motor disabilities. This program enables operation of a computer in a graphical user interface (GUI) environment using only the keyboard. With QPointer Keyboard running, the keyboard functions as a relative and absolute pointing device, in addition to performing standard keyboard functions. However, the physical mouse also remains operational, enabling the user to select operations to be performed by the keyboard or the mouse. The program is supplied with default configurations which assign functions to particular keys, but they can be reassigned to meet user needs.
