  1. NUANCE ZOOMS Picture of NUANCE ZOOMS

Nuance ZOOMS is a cell phone display magnifier program designed for use by individuals with low vision. This program magnifies the displays of Symbian Series 60 handsets. It can magnify the full screen area from 1.5 up to 4 times. In Distributed Views mode, the screen is divided into several areas to display various elements simultaneously, magnified to double their original size. As the user scrolls through a menu or list, the program magnifies each item along with some of the surrounding area. Key commands allow the user to magnify specific elements such as the window title, soft keys, or battery level indicator. When the magnifier is on an object that does not fit the screen in its entirety, after a brief delay the program begins to scroll automatically through the text so the user can view the complete contents. The display can be converted into black and white, grayscale, or color inverted. Auto-Zoom mode resizes text as defined by the user, independent of the text's original size. This magnifier program can operate with the Nuance TALKS screen reader, with shared key commands and magnification focus synchronized with reading of items on the screen.

  2. SYSTEM ACCESS MOBILE

System Access Mobile is a voice output screen reader program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. The program comes with a license for installation on any U3-enabled USB thumb drive (not included). The thumb drive can be carried on a key ring or in a pocket, and plugged into any computer to provide access with the user's settings and preferences. When done, the user removes the thumb drive, leaving no traces of the program on the host computer. The license also covers installation on up to two computers. OPTIONS: Neo Speech voices; System Access Mobile Network (SAMNet).
