1. ADVOCATE REDI-CODE TALKING GLUCOSE METER (MODEL TD-4223)

   The Advocate Redi-Code Talking Glucose Meter, model TD-4223, is a voice output glucose analyzer designed for use by individuals with diabetes who are blind or have low vision. This talking unit provides results in English or Spanish in 7 seconds. Results are also presented on a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen. The unit requires no coding, and uses a small blood sample size of 0.7 microliters, which may be taken from other parts of the body besides the fingertips, such as the palm, forearm, upper body, calf, or thigh. Data management includes a 450-test memory. A Ketone warning is given for results above 240 mg/dl. The unit comes with an owner's manual, a quick reference guide, and a carrying case. 2. BIG NUMBER TALKING CALCULATOR

   The Big Number Talking Calculator is a voice output large print calculator designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. The calculator's visual display shows eight characters 0.5 inches high. Its speech output is in a female voice with a three-level volume control. The calculator performs math functions, including percentage and power calculations, with memory and a repeat button. POWER: Uses two double-A batteries (included). 3. CLARITY PHONE (MODELS 1000, 2000, 3000 AND 4000)

   The Clarity Telephone is an amplifier telephone designed with adjustable frequency range for individuals with high frequency hearing loss. Set the control to the frequency that is easiest to hear and hard to hear voices come through loud and clear. There are four models available. All models have the following features: visual ringer light; low-frequency ringer; hearing aid compatible; tone/pulse switch; desk/wall mountable; and increase volume to 25 dB. Model 1000 is the home version with mute, redial and one touch memory buttons. The Basic, model 2000 has no advanced options. The Clarity 3000 is the Feature phone with mute and redial buttons, and memory. The Clarity Speaker Phone, model 4000, has the addition of a two line feature. It has memory, mute redial and flash buttons as well as conference and hold features.

   The ClearSounds Bed Shaker, model CS-SHK, is a bed vibrator designed for use by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. This vibrating signal device alerts the user while asleep or in any situation where it is hard to hear an alarm or phone ring.    The Cordless TV Listener is an amplification system for televisions designed for use by individuals who are hard of hearing. This unit is comprised of a transmitter and a lightweight cordless headset. Its 13-watt bulb contains a blend of phosphors formulated to replicate the full spectrum of natural daylight. For many persons with low vision, the bulb produces high color rendering, enhanced contrast, and good visual acuity with less glare. This lamp is recommended for color-matching, sewing, and crafts.

12. PANASONIC FOUR-TRACK PLAYER

    The Panasonic Four-Track Player is a four-track cassette player and two-track cassette player/recorder designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This four-track player uses earphones only and has no external speaker. It features variable speed control, fast forward and rewind, and comes with a belt clip. 13. SONIC ALERT BED SHAKER (MODEL PV1)

    The Sonic Alert Bed Shaker, model PV1, is a bed vibrator designed to alert sleepers with limited or no hearing to a wake-up alarm or signal from a doorbell, telephone or baby cry. The cylindrical unit will vibrate to alert the sleeper. The vibrator is portable and placed between mattress and box springs or under a pillow. When the mailbox door is opened, the Mail Chime will beep four times and a bright red LED light will light on the receiver.
