  5. ATLAS OF NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA

    The Atlas of North and South America is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. The atlas is divided into three units in four volumes with an emphasis on geography. The maps show boundaries, mountains, rivers and bodies of waters, elevation, major cities only, climate, land use and resources, each of which has a braille label. Each unit is self-contained and can be used alone. Unit 1, Northern North America, covers Canada and the United States and has one volume that contains 59 pages. Unit 2, The United States, has two volumes which contain 124 pages and divide the U.S. into six regions with a maps of each region. Unit 3, Middle and South America, has one volume which contains 51 pages.

    The Atlas of Southeast Asia is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This volume of maps covers Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar (formerly Burma), Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and the Philippines. Each country has an introductory page in braille featuring facts and a detailed full page tactile map. The maps show cities and physical features, each of which are labeled in braille.     The Atlas of the Middle East is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This volume of maps covers 17 countries: Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine National Authority, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. Each country has an introductory page in braille featuring facts and a detailed full page tactile map. The maps show cities and physical features, each of which has a braille label. The atlas contains 69 pages and 25 maps with keys.

  10. ATLAS OF WESTERN EUROPE

    The Atlas of Western Europe is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This two-volume set of maps covers 21 countries and their nearby territories. Each country has an introductory page in braille featuring facts and a detailed full page tactile map. The maps show cities and physical features, each of which has a braille label. Volume 1 has 72 pages and 23 maps, covering Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Andorra, Monaco, and Luxembourg. Volume 2 has 48 pages and 13 maps, covering Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Greece, Liechtenstein, San Marino, and Malta. The British Isles (available in a separate publication) are not included.

  11. BASIC HUMAN ANATOMY

    Basic Human Anatomy is a braille textbook and tactile graphics set for anatomy designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This volume contains tactile drawings of cross-sections of the head and brain; nose, mouth and throat; teeth; respiratory tract; heart; digestive system; villus; urinary tract; kidney; nephron; nerve cell; eye; ear; skin; male and female reproductive systems; and a fetus in the womb. Each of these drawings has braille labels. There are 31 pages in total and 18 drawings with keys.

  12. MAPS OF ALASKA

    Maps of Alaska is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. The book is divided into two sections. The first half of the book contains overall maps showing land regions, cities and towns, rivers, mountains, national parks and native corporations, boroughs and climate. The second half of the book divides the state into seven regions: Brooks Range and North Slope, Fairbanks and the Interior, Anchorage and South Central Alaska, West Coast, Kodiak and Alaska Peninsula, Aleutian Islands, and the Panhandle. Each region has a page of introductory information in braille followed by a detailed map either on facing pages or on a foldout page. The maps are labled with key letters which are identified in brailled key pages that face the map. These maps are created by hand in metal foil and copied by thermoforming. This volume of maps contains 74 pages including 21 maps and is bound with cardboard covers and a multi-ring binder.

  13. MAPS OF CALIFORNIA

    Maps of California is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This volume of maps covers Northern, Central, and Southern California; San Francisco; Yosemite National Park; the Los Angeles area; and San Diego. Each area has an introductory page in braille featuring facts and general information followed by a full page tactile map. The maps show location of major cities, rivers and lakes, mountains, highways, parks, and counties, each of which has a braille label. The atlas includes and indexes about 275 cities. There are 84 pages in total and 19 maps with keys.

  14. MAPS OF CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES

    Maps of Canada and the United States is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This volume of maps is divided into three sections. The first section contains four thematic maps that show major cities, land forms, elevation and climate of Canada and the U.S. The second section contains six maps of Canada including enlarged maps of the Maritime Provinces and the Great Lakes Region. The third section contains 18 maps of the U.S. and its territories. These maps include four thematic maps which show elevation, rivers, mountains, and economy; and maps of Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam. The atlas contains 75 pages and 28 maps.

  15. MAPS OF INDIVIDUAL U.S. STATES

    Maps of Individual U.S. States is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This set of maps covers the following U.S. states in separate volumes: Maine (27 pages in total and 11 maps with keys), New Hampshire (29 pages in total and 11 maps with keys), Vermont (18 pages in total and nine maps with keys), Massachusetts (48 pages in total, 15 maps with keys, and information about and overall maps of Boston), Connecticut and Rhode Island (38 pages in total and 13 maps with keys), New York (44 pages in total, 14 maps with keys, and information about and overall maps of New York City), New Jersey (46 pages in total, 17 maps with keys, and overall maps of metropolitan areas around Newark and Camden), Pennsylvania (34 pages in total, 12 maps with keys, and information about and overall maps of Philadelphia), Florida (34 pages in total, 12 maps with keys, and maps of Orlando/Lakeland, Tampa/Sarasota, Fort Myers/Naples, and Miami/Fort Lauderdale areas), Illinois (46 pages in total, 13 maps with keys, and overall maps of Chicago and vicinity). Each state map booklet has an introductory page in braille featuring facts and information followed by a full page tactile map. The maps show major cities, rivers and lakes, major highways, physical features, county boundaries, and agricultural and mineral resources, each of which has a braille label.

    Maps of Morocco is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This volume of maps contains 19 pages and seven maps with keys. The maps show cities and physical features and are labeled in braille.

  17. MAPS OF RUSSIA AND ITS FORMER REPUBLICS

    The Maps of Russia and Its Former Republics is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. The maps show boundaries, rivers, and major cities as of 1997, each of which has a braille label. This volume of maps contains 16 pages and six maps.

  18. MAPS OF THE BIBLE LANDS - OLD TESTAMENT

    Maps of the Bible Lands – Old Testament is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This volume of maps covers Ancient World; Abraham; Exodus; Kingdoms of Saul, David, Solomon, Israel, and Judah; Assyrians; Babylonians; Persians; Alexander; Seleucids; and Maccabees. The atlas contains no text, keys labeled in braille, and can be used by serious students of the Bible or ancient history. There are 98 pages in total and 25 maps.

  19. MAPS OF THE BRITISH ISLES

    Maps of the British Isles is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This volume of maps covers England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland. Overall maps show boundaries, bodies of water, mountains and hills. Maps of each region show cities, towns, major rivers, and counties or regions, each of which has a braille label. Places of interest in the Greater London area and an overall map of London are also included. The atlas contains 46 pages and 11 maps with keys.

  20. MAPS OF THE STATE OF HAWAII

    Maps of the State of Hawaii is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This volume of maps covers eight major islands; and a general view of the city of Honolulu and of Pearl Harbor are included in the maps of the island of Oahu. Each island has an introductory page in braille featuring facts and general information followed by one or more key pages and a full page tactile map. The atlas contains 55 pages and 10 maps with keys.

  21. OUTLINE MAPS OF THE WORLD

    Outline Maps of the World is a braille and tactile atlas designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This volume of maps is divided into five sections: North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia, Africa, and Polar Regions. The maps show political boundaries, capital cities, and surrounding bodies of water, each of which has a braille label. An index at the end of the volume lists counties and islands, and indicates the page number of the map on which they appear. The atlas contains 79 pages and 33 maps.
