  1. TECLA ACCESS Picture of TECLA ACCESS

Tecla Access is an alternative computer and cell phone control switch program and a scanning control switch program designed for use by individuals with fine motor or upper extremity disabilities. This application (or app) allows a person to use adapted switches or the driving controls of their powered wheelchair as wireless accessibility switches. Tecla Access is designed to be used with the Tecla Shield (see separate entry), which interfaces with a variety of switch inputs and transmits via Bluetooth the switch events to Android-powered devices. The Tecla Access app allows the switch inputs transmitted from the Tecla Shield to access to the whole Android device and scans in full color on the built-in on-screen keyboard. The Google Voice Actions feature allows the user to control the device and enters text using their voice. Any switch event from Tecla Shield wakes up and unlocks the device, and answers an incoming call. The user can also use the entire screen as a single switch. The app needs to be activated before it can be used. COMPATIBILITY: For use with an Android device. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Android 2.0 or later.

The Tecla Shield connects via Bluetooth to an Android-powered device running the Tecla app (see separate entry). The system transmits switch events wirelessly up to 100 meters in range and transmits both switch press and release events to the Android-powered device.
