APH SOUNDPAGE (MODEL 6-77505-00)
The APH SoundPage, model 6-77505-00, is a digital recorder designed for use by children who are blind or have low vision. This recording device can provide sound effects, music, or messages to accompany storybook text for young readers. The basic set includes two digital recording devices and a thermoformed plastic page slotted to hold up to three devices. The plastic page fits into the 3-ring binder of any On The Way to Literacy storybook (see separate entry). Each device is able to record, store, and play back an eight-second message, sound clip, or sound effect. The child and teacher or parent can create their own sound-effect scheme, deciding on what effects would best augment the story and when they should be played. The scheme might call for a sound to be used at a specific point or throughout the story. The included User's Guide contains suggestions for using the device as a part of story reading and suggests other uses it at home or in the preschool classroom. OPTIONS: Additional digital recording device (model 6-77505-01).
