The QualCare VOICE Alarm, model 2032, is a wandering patient system designed for use by individuals with Alzheimer's disease, cognitive disabilities, or dementia. This system has a cord that can be clipped to the patient's clothing, while the alarm unit is mounted to the patient's bed or chair. When the cord is pulled from the alarm unit, a recorded message plays for 20 seconds, then an alarm tone sounds until the caregiver resets it. Caregivers can record a personal message to reassure the patient in a familiar voice that help is on the way. The alarm can be set to four tones that sound at either 85 or 95 decibels. When the alarm is initiated, a red light also flashes to help direct the caregiver to the individual. Other features include a battery-check and a built-in nurse call jack. The included mounting bracket affixes to a bed headboard with Velcro or screws. POWER: Uses four double-A batteries (included).
