Picture of QUIETCARE QuietCare is a remote health monitoring and emergency alert system designed for use by seniors or individuals with Alzheimer's disease, cognitive disabilities, or balance disabilities. This system consists of five small, wireless motion sensors placed in strategic locations throughout the home, such as the bedroom, the bathroom, and areas where medication is stored. This system "learns" each individual's normal behavioral patterns and notes any significant changes from them. The system reports daily activity to a private Web page that can be viewed by loved ones and professional caregivers who can take action to help avoid medical emergencies. In addition, monitoring specialists receive system alerts and take action accordingly. Monitors may phone caregivers directly to notify them of certain alerts and/or send alerts electronically via a secure Web page, text message, e-mail, or pager. Examples of what can be monitored with this system include: Did the senior get out of bed and was there activity outside the bedroom in the morning? Did he/she navigate the bathroom and exit within 60 minutes? Has the nighttime bathroom routine changed? Is he/she visiting the area where medications are kept? Is the individual active in their meal preparation area? Has the overall activity level decreased? Is the home too hot or too cold? QuiteCare Professional offers service in facilities. QuietCare and QuietCare Plus are designed for individuals in their homes. In addition to the monitoring included in QuietCare, QuietCare Plus includes a personal emergency response service with panic button.
