VENTURE DUAL AXLE 287 (MODELS 287 & 287E)
The Venture Dual Axle 287 is a folding adult manual wheelchair designed for use by adults with lower extremity, mobility or neurological disabilities or spinal cord injury, as well as amputees. The dual axle position and adjustable height caster wheel housing allow the chair to be converted to hemi height. FRAME (HxLxW): 34 to 36 x 41 or 43 x 26 inches. The folded dimensions (LxW) are 31 x 11.5 inches. The triple chrome plated frame has composite side panels. Anti-tippers and an anti-folding device are optional. SEAT (LxW): 16 x 18 inches. The seat height adjusts from 18 to 20 inches. A non-removable 16.75-inch high back is standard. A seatbelt and headrest extension are optional. UPHOLSTERY: Padded nylon upholstery is available in black only. ARMRESTS: Removable desk-length padded armrests are standard. BRAKES: Adjustable toggle wheel locks are standard. Wheel lock extension tubes are optional. CASTERS: 8 x 1 inch molded casters with solid rubber tires. The casters are mounted in an adjustable height housing. WHEELS: 24 x 1 inch rear molded wheels with solid rubber tires are standard. The wheels are mounted on dual axles that allow for adjustment of the height of the wheelchair. Pneumatic tires and pneumatic tires with airless inserts are optional. Composite handrims are standard; projection handrims and a one arm drive are optional. FOOTRESTS: Cam-action swing-away detachable padded legrests or footrests with composite footplates are standard. Elevating legrests are available on model 287E. The front riggings extend from 16 to 21 inches. Leg straps and an anti-theft lock for front riggings are optional. OPTIONS: Amputee adapter; anti-theft bar; wheelchair tray; IV rod attachment; and oxygen tank holder. CAPACITY: 250 pounds. WEIGHT: 38 pounds.
