TOLD-P:4: TEST OF LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT-PRIMARY — FOURTH EDITION
The Test of Language Development-Primary: Fourth Edition (TOLD-P:4) is a language development assessment test designed for use in identifying children with communication disabilities. This test assesses spoken language in young children. Professionals can use it to (1) identify children who are significantly below their peers in oral language proficiency, (2) determine their specific strengths and weaknesses in oral language skills, (3) document their progress in remedial programs, and (4) measure oral language in research studies. The test has nine subtests measuring various aspects of oral language: (1) Picture Vocabulary, (2) Relational Vocabulary, (3) Oral Vocabulary, (4) Syntactic Understanding, (5) Sentence Imitation, (6) Morphological Completion, (7) Word Discrimination, (8) Word Analysis, and (9) Word Articulation. Results of these subtests can be combined to form composite scores for the major dimensions of language, including semantics and grammar; listening, organizing, and speaking; and overall language ability. The complete test kit includes an Examiner’s Manual, a Picture Book, 25 Examiner/Record Forms, and a Critical Reviews and Research Finds monograph, all in a sturdy storage box.
