Picture of SAPPHIRE PORTABLE MAGNIFIER The Sapphire Portable Magnifier is a video magnifier designed for use by individuals with low vision. It magnifies text and objects from 3.4 to 16 times on a bright, high-contrast display screen. The video image can be displayed in 23 combinations of type and background color, including full color, white type on a black background, and yellow type on a blue background. The top can be opened to magnify three-dimensional objects, or rotated back for reading flat documents or books. For its highest magnification, the magnifier connects with a video cable to a television. A built-in writing stand elevates the magnifier to provide space to work under the camera with a small tool or the writing end of a pen or pencil. A carrying case is included.
