Picture of SMARTSENSOR The SmartSensor is a collision prevention system for scooter designed for use by people with mobility disabilities. The SmartSensor can be added to the Amigo Classic FD, Amigo RT Express, Amigo RD and Amigo HD scooters (see separate entries). It can detect objects up to 30 inches ahead and when an object is detected, it gently slows the scooter’s forward speed, bringing it to a gradual stop. When the SmartSensor is activated, the scooter is limited to a top speed of 2.3 miles per hour so that the SmartSensor can stop the scooter safely when an object is detected. It is designed to avoid pedestrian impact so objects less than three inches wide or closer than eight inches to the floor will not be detected; however, the SmartSensor may prevent direct impact into a wall. COMPATIBILITY: Amigo Classic FD, Amigo RT Express, Amigo RD and Amigo HD scooters.
