Picture of MY CHOICE BOARD My Choice Board is a direct selection communicator and voice output program designed for use by individuals with communication, learning, or speech disabilities or autism. This application (or app) enables an Apple iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch to function as an alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) system for people who cannot speak or have difficulty speaking. The user or a parent, caregiver or teacher selects images (from the device’s library or online), displays them on the choice board, touches the preferred choice, and the preferred selection is displayed in the “I want” strip at the top of the screen. The user can enlarge the image to full screen by touching the image again and prerecorded message will play if the user recorded sound to the image. The program also allows the user to save multiple choice boards for future use. Choice boards can be themed to display personal preferences such as sensory choices, playtime or activity choices, and restaurant or food choices. More than six images can be added to a choice board and choices can be edited to be shown as “unavailable” with a red circle and a slash over the image. COMPATIBILITY: For use with the Apple iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Apple iOS 3.1.2 or later.
