Picture of AKTIVA REACHERS --- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 06/2010) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Aktiva Reachers are designed for use by individuals with reduced arm and hand strength and mobility. The handle is angled to make use of existing hand strength and to permit an effective grip in a variety of situations. Activating the U-shaped gripping jaws requires minimal strength and the jaws are adapted for both precision gripping of small items and securing larger items. The gripping surface is covered in resilient rubber for secure gripping and to reduce the amount of force required. The jaws are also adjustable in two positions and can be used vertically or horizontally without requiring the user to turn his/her arm. A finger support on the trigger also acts as a suspension hook. DIMENSIONS: Available in 18 or 27 inches long.
