Picture of INVACARE TORQUE SP The Invacare Torque SP is a powered wheelchair designed for use by adults with mobility disabilities. FRAME (WxL): 24.75 x 32.25 inches. The chair is 34.25 inches high in the low configuration and 36.5 inches high in the medium configuration. The ground clearance is nearly five inches and the turning radius is 29.5 inches or less. Dynamic anti-tippers are included. CONTROLS: Mark IV RII joystick is included on the standard model and the Mark IV A joytick is standard with the weight limit upgrade. Other Mark IV and switch options are available. This chair includes Action Virtual Service that links the electronics to expert help via a standard phone line for diagnostics, programming, and set up. Self-diagnostics monitor 31 critical sites. RWD: Rear-wheel direct drive. SEAT: A solid seat pan is standard; a sling seat is available. The seat-to-floor-height is 17.5 inches on the low configuration and 19.75 inches on the medium configuration. An optional tilt seat system allows up to 10 degrees of tilt. ARMRESTS: The flip-back, removable armrests are height-adjustable from 9.5 to 3.5 inches. BRAKES: Dynamic electronic braking. WHEELS: 14 x 3 inch or 14 x 4 inch rear wheels with treaded pneumatic or foam-filled tires. CASTERS: 8 x 1.75 inch or 6 x 2 inch semi-pneumatic or 8 x 2 inch or 9 x 2.75 pneumatic or foam-filled front casters. FOOTRESTS: Telescoping front riggings. POWER: Uses 22NF deep-cycle batteries. A dual-mode automatic battery charger is included. SPEEDS: Maximum forward speed is 4.5 miles per hour at an incline of nine degrees for up to 18 miles per battery charge. The speed selector is located on the joystick. CAPACITY: 250 pounds is standard; electronics upgrades permit a capacity of 300 or 400 pounds. WEIGHT: 255 pounds with batteries and front riggings; 160 pounds without batteries.
