(Verified 4/2004) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE --- The Safari is a stroller or transport chair designed for use by children or small adults with mobility disabilities. Available in a Frame Only model to accept customized seating, a Basic model, and an Anatomical model, this stroller stabilizes the user's head and neck in a functional position. FRAME (WxHxL): Black powdercoated lightweight folding frame. A straight frame is standard and an anatomical frame is available. All models are 23 x 36 x 41.5 to 44 inches open and 14 x 15 x 46 inches folded. SEAT: The Frame Only model comes with no seating. The Basic model features a heavy-duty seat with anti-thrust planar inserts and seat depth adjustability. The Anatomical model has a heavy-duty seat with a semi-contour planar seat insert and an anatomical back with removable and reformable splines. Padded shoulder positioning straps are optional. The seat is 14 inches wide and the depth adjusts from 9.5 to 14 inches. The seat to footrest distance is adjustable from 13 to 23 inches and the seat height from the floor is 20 inches. The seat to back angle can be set at 85, 90, or 95 degrees. Custom seating options are available. UPHOLSTERY: The Basic and Anatomical models feature a choice of Nile green, Mediterranean blue, or deep burgundy washable, padded Cordura fabric upholstery. ARMRESTS: Pivot armrests are standard on the Basic and Anatomical models. BRAKES: Attendant-operated brakes on the rear wheels. CASTERS: 8-inch microcellular molded front casters on all models. WHEELS: 12-inch microcellular molded rear wheels on all models. FOOTRESTS: Removable, swing-away, depth-adjustable, independently height-adjustable footrests are standard on the Basic and Anatomical models. A padded calf support and elevating legrests with swing-away footplates are available. Footrests are not included with the Frame Only model. OPTIONS: A tray and positioning accessories are optional. CAPACITY: 150 pounds. WEIGHT: The Frame Only weighs 21.5 pounds and the Basic and Anatomical models weigh 23 pounds without the footrests.
