SENSOR SWITCH (MODEL 722)
The Sensor Switch, model 722, is a motion detection switch designed for use by individuals with spinal cord injuries, severe physical disabilities,or upper extremity disabilities. Activated by controlled small muscle movement, the switch consists of a control box with two sensor pads connected to it. The sensors can be placed on the forehead, under fingers, on work surfaces, on a headrest, or wherever the user can best control them. The sensitivity of the switches can be adjusted to increase or decrease the amount of muscle movement needed to activate the switch, and each switch sensor has its own controls. Auditory (tone) and visual (red light) feedback are provided. An adjustable switch delay eliminates unwanted activations. Each switch operates in three modes: Time, Momentary, and Latch. The Latch mode is preferred when operating a device that needs to remain on until another switch activation is turns it off. Time mode is ideal for devices such as the Charm Alarm (see separate entry). The timer is adjustable from two to 40 seconds. Momentary mode is used for computer or communication device operation. Two sensors and a headband are included. POWER: 9-volt battery. OPTIONS: Replacement sensors are available. DIMENSIONS: Control box is 2.6 x 4.4 inches; sensors are each 1-inch in diameter. WEIGHT: The control box weighs 1 pound.
