By Ohnishi, Kengo; Saito, Yukio; Sakurai, Michiyo; RESNA 2000: Technology for the New Millenium, Vol. 20, No. 1, pp. 193-195

Article discussing a light electric upper limb prosthesis that requires simple and low maintenance developed by Tokyo Denki University (TDU) for the Japanese market. Design criteria include weight, ease of wearing, operation, aesthetic appearance, and function. The prosthetic hand was designed from the pre-existing TDU Hand, as the mechanism and materials were redesigned to lessen weight and simplify maintenance. The authors were in the process of designing a series of prostheses for the project at the time the paper was written.
