Linux Users to Benefit from AT Software with Windows Crossover Platform

Article describing Lindows from Premier Programming Solutions, which is an operating system that enables users to run Linux and Windows software from within Linux, with no additional software requirements. The Premier Programming Solutions Accessibility Suite software titles are available in the Lindows platform. Ten software applications are described: (1) Text-to-Audio 5.0, which converts documents, web pages, and other printed material into audio files; (2) Scan and Read and Scan and Read Pro, which are two reading tools that convert scanned books, magazines, or other documents into spoken text in 12 different languages; (3) Text Cloner and Text Cloner Pro, which are optical character recognition programs; (4) Complete Reading System, which is a reading package designed for non-computer users that eliminates the need for both a screen reader and a mouse; (5) Talking Word Processor, which features word pause, repeat word, and word magnify for people who have difficulty reading and writing; (6) Scan and View, which converts a computer and a scanner into a closed-circuit television; (7) Screen Magnifier, which enlarges screen images from 12 to 16 times; (8) Screen Reader, which complements the speech interface of the Windows operating system; (9) Talking Web Browser, which converts any web page into spoken text, and (10) Talking Calculator, which is an on-screen calculator that pronounces each button, edit area, and numerical problem as it is entered, including the result.
