Department of Education Selects Deque Systems for Web Accessibility

By AT Journal, Vol. 57, No. 1
Publication Date: September 2002

Article announcing that Deque Systems, Incorporated, which is a pioneer in web-based accessibility solutions, is helping the U.S. Department of Education optimize their Section 508 quality assurance processes by automating the evaluation and repair of their web sites. Deque Solutions will do so by utilizing Robust Accessibility Management and Production (RAMP), which is a validation and repair tool for web accessibility and Section 508 compliance. The program was designed to reduce the manual effort of testing for accessibility and compliance by automatically making the necessary changes and tracking all progress. The RAMP product has an intuitive Java-based graphical user interface, and can be used to remediate the problems discovered during analysis. One the remediation is completed, RAMP allows for easy exportation of the code, which can then be tested with assistive technology.
