Making IT Accessible to All is Latest Challenge

Article discusses how companies can make information technology accessible to people with disabilities. For example, Wells Fargo has formed an internal group to ensure that its own web sites conform to accessibility standards. The company provides accessibility tools for its employees, including screen readers, text-to-speech tools, and screen magnifiers. The Trace Center at the University of Wisconsin worked with Vcom3D, Incorporated to develop the SigningAvatar, which translates text to sign language, and has a 3,000-word vocabulary.
