A Beginner's Guide to DVR and DVI

By Williams, Marvin; AT Messenger , Vol. 12, No. 3, p. 9
Publication Date: Summer 2004

Article provides information for people interested in contacting the Delaware Department of Labor’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) and the Delaware Health and Social Services’ Division for the Hearing Impaired (DVI). The DVR provides services and products to assist people with disabilities to find or keep a job. Services include physical assessments, interpreter services, assistive technology, and job counseling and guidance. The DVI aims to provide similar services, though their focus is on people with visual disabilities. A list of tips the author hopes could lead to an effective, efficient experience when dealing with these agencies is provided, as is a list of telephone contacts for DVR agencies.
