Romanian Hearing Aid Project to Set Up Pediatric Testing Center

By Hearing Review, Vol. 12, No. 12, p. 49
Publication Date: November 2005

Article discusses Phase 2 of the Romanian Hearing Project, which has resulted in the opening of the Center for Early Detection of Hearing Loss at the Pediatric Hospital Clinic in Cluj-Napoca. This is the first site in Cluj to offer otoacoustic emission testing, VRA testing in a soundproof booth, and ABR/BEAR testing for children of all ages. The author contends that this is the only such site in Transylvania, and possibly the only one in all of Romania. Romania is a country where hearing aid companies are starting to prosper, but a need still exists for skilled diagnostics.
