By Sereci, Stephen G.; Measuring Up: Assessment Issues for Teachers, Counselors, and Administrators,
Publication Date: 2003

Chapter provides an overview of adaptive computerized testing for students with disabilities. Computerized adaptive testing is defined as a test administration system that uses the computer to select and deliver test items to examinees based on predictive algorithms. This allows questions to be tailored to students’ individual abilities, while computerized adaptive testing also allows for more flexible test administration schedules, improved security, instant scoring, and the inclusion of multimedia. A discussion of the future of computerized adaptive testing is included.
