Conducting Complete AAC and Computer Access Evaluations

By Standal, John; CSUN Technology and Persons With Disabilities Conference - 2002,
Publication Date: 2002

Paper discusses EvaluWare from Assistive Technology, Incorporated, which was created to allow speech/language pathologists, occupational therapists, educators, and other professionals to determine the most appropriate computer access solutions and augmentative and alternative communication devices for their clients. The program features 350 interactive screens that lead clinicians through activities that assess visual, motor, and language comprehension skills, all of which are necessary for successful communication and computer access. All tests can be adapted to meet the unique needs of individual users. This paper was presented at the 2002 California State University at Northridge Technology and Persons With Disabilities Conference.
