Creating DAISY Digital Talking Books in the New Format with Book Master

By Skutchan, Larry; Creasy, Keith; CSUN Technology and Persons With Disabilities Conference - 2002,
Publication Date: 2002

Paper discusses a method for creating Digital Talking Books using the DAISY 3.0 format with a program called Book Master, which was created by the American Printing House for the Blind. Book Master Audio provides a number of tools for digital audio format that can be used to create a fully compliant DAISY 3.0 Digital Talking Book in very little time. These tools include quality digital audio recording, playback, and a navigation component. The navigation component provides a foundation for a number of tools that provide a complete digital transition. Book Master keeps a table of contents in the form of a tree view, which serves as a quick, simple navigation tool for both the narrator and the reader.
