New FaceToFace Communication for People Who Are Deaf-Blind

By Access World, Vol. 7, No. 1
Publication Date: January 2006

Article discusses Freedom Scientific’s FaceToFace, which works in conjunction with the company’s PAC Mate personal digital assistant to allow users to have a conversation with a person who is up to 30 feet away. When using either the PAC Mate QX with a QWERTY keyboard or a PAC Mate BX with a Braille keyboard, individuals can type conversation, which is then immediately displayed on either another PAC Mate or on the visual display of an iPAQ Pocket PC. FaceToFace comes with a thumb keyboard and a CompactFlash Bluetooth card. Interested parties are encouraged to visit Freedom Scientific’s website (http://www.freedomscientific.com) for further information.
