Workplace Accommodation Training: A Focus on Providing Training to ATPs

By Milchus, Karen, MS; RESNA 29th International Annual Conference 2006,
Publication Date: 2006

Paper focuses on an online survey conducted to determine what type of information professionals need to assist people with disabilities in the workplace. The questions focused on the respondents’ work experience, requirements for professional certification, and the topics they would like to learn more about. The author discusses the results from the certified assistive technology (AT) practitioners who responded, and touches on the methods they used to learn about workplace accommodations. The author contends that the results have implications for people who are designing workplace accommodation training programs. This research was conducted as part of the Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center on Workplace Accommodations.
