By PN: Paraplegia News, Vol. 50, No. 5
(Pages: 93) Publication Date: May, 1996

This selection in the "Innovations" column describes the Vortex Recline Systems powered wheelchair from Everest and Jennings which features a power base with a rear wheel width of less than 24 inches. Available with sliding back (adjusts 2 - 6 inches), tilt-in-space (up to 45 degrees), or combination. Tilt-in-space models have a sliding center of gravity pivot and shorter wheelbase than competitive models. All systems have center-mounted rigging for better maneuverability, feature adjustable-depth solid-seat pans, reclining arms, and a solid contour back with accessory strip for attachment of positioning hardware and pads.
