By Cooper, R.A. Department of Rehabilitation Science and Technology, School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA Human Engineering Laboratory, California State University, Sacramento, CA Stewart; Proceedings of the RESNA '94 Annual Conference, Vol. 14
(Pages: 324-326) Publication Date: 1994

This article describes a series of fatigue tests used to evaluate the durability of manual wheelchairs and their components when subjected to repeated low-level stresses. At the same time the applicability of ANSI/RESNS WC-08 to fatigue testing of wheelchairs was also evaluated. Testing involved a Double Drum fatigue test and a Curb Drop test. Nine wheelchairs were tested to failure. Test results are given in tabular form.
