This paper describes the devlopment of a device that combines wheelchair pushing with video game playing in an effort to provide motivation for therapeutic exercise. The prototype is a cost effective system that imitates a video game joystick using both wheels of a manual wheelchair. The paper reviews existing technologies, discusses other alternatives, and describes complete electronic details.
