Accessible Housing In Europe. Policies And Results

By Ambrose, Ivor, Danish Building Research Institute; Proceedings of the RESNA '95 Annual Conference,
(Pages: 65-67) Publication Date: 1995

This paper is a broad overview of legislation regarding architectural elements such as accessibility, adaptable housing , and use of computers and information technology in European Community member-states. The survey was conducted in October-December, 1994, by the HELIOS WT8 Working Group on Adaptable Housing of the European Commission. The survey found that policies in this area vary greatly between the member-states, and the author calls for greater coordination and exchange of ideas within the region.
