From Wheelchair to Sailplane

The article provides an overview of the services of Freedom Wings, a nonprofit organization that provides adapted gliders and training to future pilots. The article details the process through a personal narrative, and provides side bars with information about the steps involved in obtaining a pilot's license and getting started, Canadian organizations that also sponsor flying for people with disabilities, information about types and prices of airplanes and hand controls, and contact information for flight schools. The article also includes information about the International Wheelchair Aviators organization.
